The Division of Student Life comprises departments that share a common mission, vision and strategic priorities. The division’s efforts are grounded in several shared values: developing students, enhancing collaborations and partnerships, providing meaningful education and services, supporting faculty and staff across the campus, and assessing a goal of continual improvement. The interconnecting values, strategic priorities, mission and vision are further strengthened within the context of the university’s Essential Learning Outcomes and Campus Strategic Framework.
To cultivate, advance and interconnect the academic, professional, personal, and social development of students, and to champion a respectful, globally engaged and diverse university community.
To be the campus leader in inspiring students to live the Wisconsin Idea.
The Division of Student Life is focusing energy on four priorities during the next three to five years to address our mission and guide us toward our vision of inspiring students to live the Wisconsin Idea.
Promote and support student academic engagement, growth, and success.
Create and model environments and communities in which students feel that they belong. Aid students in developing a depth of understanding with diverse and competing perspectives and experiences.
Cultivate opportunities where students can reflect, integrate, and act upon their Wisconsin Experience.
Create conditions where students understand and act upon their personal and social responsibilities both locally and globally.
