Student Affairs is reimagining how campus spaces are structured to support student belonging and success. As one important part of this effort, we invite you to share your experiences and ideas for UW–Madison’s student programming and space

Batista Consulting Services will be holding listening sessions with students on campus, Nov. 27–29, 2023. The goal of the sessions is to gather information about UW’s approach to establishing and resourcing student cultural centers and to gather input on programming related to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. The listening sessions are part of a comprehensive review that will continue throughout the spring semester. This work will result in recommendations to inform the Student Affairs space study in progress as well as future resources for cultural programming.

How the sessions will work:

  • One-hour sessions, most with an identity-specific focus, facilitated by Batista Consulting Services team members.
  • Each session will be limited to 20 students. Listening sessions with professional staff and student employees will be held separately.
  • Each student participant will receive $15 on their Wiscard. Students may participate in one session only but of course are invited to share their intersectional perspectives at any session.
  • Light refreshments will be available.

Please attend the themed session that best aligns with the experiences and ideas you’d like to share. No RSVP necessary. While participation is limited in person, there will be an opportunity to provide feedback electronically for those who cannot attend. We will share more information about that process after the consultants’ visit.

Contact the Office of Student Affairs at vcsa@studentaffairs.wisc.edu if you require accommodations for a session or have questions.
