Resources and emergency funds available to students
This message was emailed to all UW–Madison undergraduate and graduate students.
Dear students,
I hope you are doing well and staying warm. In this spirit, I’m reaching out to let you know about many resources available to support you through this academic year.
Emergency Support — Students experiencing emergency financial hardship and unable to meet immediate, essential expenses may submit an Emergency Support Request using the online form in their MyUW Student Center (under Student eForms and the Financial Aid folder). Emergency requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and can be made with the form regardless of residency or citizenship status.
Basic Needs — Let the university’s basic needs assistants help you find community resources for internet/technology, childcare, housing, employment, and more.
Food Assistance —
- Browse a list of ways to access food options on and near campus, including the student-run Open Seat for food boxes and toiletry kits delivered to three campus locations.
- If you are in need of immediate food assistance, the Badger FARE Program can quickly get you $75 on your Wiscard to use at the Wisconsin Union and Badger Markets.
- Benefit from the Wisconsin Union’s Act of Kindness with a free meal for pickup on Feb. 23, 24, or 25. Sign up here.
