Badgers, as a graduating senior, I’ve spent four years navigating these end-of-semester weeks, and I know their importance. With warmer weather and the academic year closing, it’s time to stay focused and finish strong.
Whatever your year, campus resources are here to support you. This guide highlights key tools, services, and strategies to stay motivated and prepare for a strong semester finish.
Study support.
- Need extra help? No worries, you’ve got plenty of support waiting for you! Check out Greater University Tutoring Services (GUTS) for no-cost, peer-led tutoring to help you succeed in all your classes.
- Remember, the Office of Academic and Career Success offers even more resources to help you finish this semester at your full potential.
You are not alone.
- Feeling overwhelmed? There is a community of resources here to help you. UW-Madison offers assistance for struggles with both basic needs and mental health. The Office of Student Assistance and Support can connect you with campus services, so students are never navigating these challenges alone.
- Let’s Talk, through University Health Services (UHS), offers no-cost, informal, and confidential consultations on campus and virtually. In-person sessions are first-come, first-served and range from 20-25 minutes, now until May 8.
- UHS Mental Health Services partners with Uwill to expand access to flexible, no-cost, virtual counseling options. Licensed medical professionals are available for video, phone, chat, and message sessions during flexible hours.
Take breaks.
- Remember, as feelings of stress potentially amplify with the semester ending, it’s important to relax and take breaks. Take in the last moments of the semester and recharge by spending time with friends, in nature, or even getting some extra sleep.
- Check out Rec Well’s Self-Care Week from May 2 – 8 for free group fitness classes, guided meditations, and more. All walk-ins are welcome. It’s important to take breaks from studying, especially to replenish your focus and energy. The Wisconsin Union hosts several free events to help you de-stress and enjoy.
You have come so far, and for many of you, graduation is no longer a distant goal, but rather something you can almost feel. Take a moment to remember the late nights, the small victories, the friends who helped you get here, and the inner strength you unlocked along the way. As you move through these next weeks, make use of campus resources to support and help you #FinishStrong. You are closer than you realize, and the moment you’ve worked so hard for is waiting to welcome you!
