New Semester, New Resources: What to Know about Campus

We’re back, Badgers! The excitement and energy of a new year is all around as we welcome you to campus. Soak it all in. Whether you’re new to campus or a graduating senior, always know there are teams of people and resources available to help you be well, get involved, and find community.

Here are some events and resources to get you settled:

Events & Activities:

  • Make lifelong connections at Wisconsin Welcome, happening across campus through October 5. Download the app at go.wisc.edu/welcome to discover Madison, meet fellow Badgers, and find your campus community.
  • Flex your potential Recreation & Wellbeing. Find your fit and participate in a range of activities (known as flexes). Love the outdoors? Walk, paddle, hike, and explore with help from Wisconsin Hoofers.

Health, Safety, & Support:

Community, Engagement, & Inclusivity:

  • Our campus has a rich history of supporting the free exchange of ideas and expressive activity. Become familiar with your rights and limitations within the bounds of our campus to ensure that all viewpoints can be heard.
  • Follow along with #BadgersVote, UW–Madison’s campaign to educate the campus community on participation in the democratic process. Visit vote.wisc.edu.

Finally, if you need help and don’t know where you go, connect with staff at the Office of Student Assistance and Support (formerly the Dean of Students Office) to help you navigate campus life together. Drop-in staff are available every weekday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in person, by phone, or virtually.

Let’s make this fall semester one to remember. Take advantage of the opportunities before you, challenge yourself, and most importantly, enjoy the journey.
