About the Associate Vice Chancellor Position

The Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Student Affairs for Identity and Inclusion at University of Wisconsin–Madison is a senior administrator in Student Affairs, reports to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, and is a member of the Vice Chancellor’s leadership team. They assist in planning, implementation, partnership-building, and assessment around strategic initiatives designed to enhance the academic, social, emotional, and overall success of underrepresented students as well as the entire student body. They are also a key liaison between Student Affairs and the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Educational Achievement. The AVC serves as a university advocate championing diversity, equity, and social justice as critical components of institutional experience and promotes a university culture of inclusion where students from all identities are able to thrive and be engaged.

With a budget of approximately $4.5 million and approximately 53 staff members, the AVC provides leadership in administering a comprehensive range of programs and services designed to support student success at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

  • International Student Services
  • McBurney Disability Resource Center
  • Multicultural Student Center
  • University Veteran Services

The anticipated start date is in December 2019.

About the Associate Vice Chancellor Search

The search for a new Associate Vice Chancellor launched in November 2019. The eight-member search committee charged by Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Lori Reesor is chaired by Christina Olstad, Dean of Students.
