Spring break is just around the corner!
Whether you’re heading somewhere warm or staying local, however you plan to spend your spring break, we hope you have the chance to relax, reset, and recharge.
From travel tips to staying aware of your surroundings, here are some helpful reminders to ensure a safe spring break.
Stay well.
- Exercise and stay healthy. Whether you are staying in Madison or traveling, find opportunities to move your body. Drop into one of the Rec Well facilities during spring break, or check out the one-on-one wellness coaching program.
- Mental health support is available through University Health Services (UHS) In addition to the services available through UHS, all students, regardless of their location, have access to no-cost virtual counseling sessions through Uwill.
- Need help and are unsure where to go? The Office of Student Assistance and Support (OSAS) is here to help students navigate personal, academic, and health issues.
Be safe and respect others.
- If you choose to drink, practice safer drinking strategies, like eating and drinking water before and during.
- Carry Narcan.
- Step in if you notice something harmful. Looking to build your skills as an active bystander? Take ActWIse, available on Canvas.
- Consent is an ongoing conversation. Check in often, honor the boundaries of others, and do not make assumptions.
- Remember to make use of SafeWalk and their free walking escorts until 1:00 a.m.
