During the 2024-2025 school year, the University of Wisconsin-Madison community experienced the tragic loss of eight students. On May 2 at 11 a.m. classmates, faculty, and staff will gather to honor and celebrate these students during a memorial ceremony at the Carillon Bell Tower.
The UW-Madison community is saddened by the loss of each student. Each of these students was valued and left a unique legacy of their own, contributing positively to the campus community.
The students who are remembered are:

- Kaedyn Bolin
- Nicolas Castaneda
- Nicholas Chmielewski
- Natnael Shiferaw
- Madilyn Vang
- Roan Vaughan
All students were known and loved here, by their friends and by the faculty and staff members who mentored them, and they will always be part of the Badger family.
