Power Through, Badgers: Finish Strong

By: Mia McCauley, Student Affairs Intern

The home stretch is almost here, Badgers! With the end of the semester just around the corner and the weather warming up, it’s time to finish what you’ve started!

Maybe you’re feeling stressed, or maybe you’re cruising along, but remember—you’ve got the support you need to finish strong.

Here’s your resource guide to making it through the final stretch with energy, focus, and Badger pride.

Study Support:

You Are Not Alone:

  • Feeling overwhelmed? There is a community of resources here to help you. UW-Madison offers assistance for struggles with both basic needs and mental health. The Office of Student Assistance and Support can connect you with campus services, so students are never navigating these challenges alone.
  • Let’s Talk, through University Health Services (UHS), offers no-cost, informal, and confidential consultations on campus and virtually. In-person sessions are first-come, first-served and range from 20-25 minutes, now until May 9.
  • UHS Mental Health Services partners with Uwill to expand access to flexible, no-cost, virtual counseling options. Licensed medical professionals are available for video, phone, chat, and message sessions, during flexible hours.

Take Breaks:

  • Remember, as feelings of stress potentially amplify with the semester ending, it’s important to relax and take breaks. Take in the last moments of the semester and recharge by spending time with friends, in nature, or even getting some extra sleep.
  • Check out RecWell’s Self Care Week from April 26-May 9 for free group fitness classes, guided meditations, and more. All walk-ins are welcome. It’s important to take breaks from studying, especially to replenish your focus and energy. The Wisconsin Union hosts several free events to help you de-stress and enjoy.

You’ve come so far, and the finish line is just ahead! Take a moment to celebrate everything you’ve already achieved. Take advantage of the resources on campus to help you power through and #FinishStrong. You can do it!
