Seven Badgers will be honored this year in a campus memorial celebration beginning at UW–Madison’s Carillon Bell Tower on May 3 at 11 a.m.
The memorial event, hosted by the Dean of Students Office , a department within Student Affairs, is an opportunity for friends, loved ones, and the campus community to celebrate each life and legacy of Badgers who have passed from March 2023-April 2024.
Dean of Students Christina Olstad will welcome loved ones to the celebration, followed by a melody played on the Carillon Bells in special tribute to each student.
After the ceremony opening, the group will head to the Storytelling Circle at Muir Knoll where Rachael Willits, associate director for the Dean of Students Office, will offer the chance to remember each student and pause for reflection.
The time together will conclude with a reception, providing a space to build community with other families and loved ones experiencing similar loss.
“Today we remember seven students from across our campus, who were just beginning to explore the many possibilities for the future. We will hold each student in our hearts.” Dean of Students Christina Olstad shared.
All students were known and loved here, by their friends and by the faculty and staff members who mentored them, and they will always be part of the Badger family.
Once a Badger, always a Badger.
