For Pride Month 2023, the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center (GSCC) hosted the Pride Picnic on Library Mall to celebrate UW’s connection and contributions to Wisconsin’s LGBTQ+ history. The Picnic was also a chance to celebrate the debut of PBS’ Wisconsin Pride, take photos in front of the display of Terrace Pride chairs (with a conversation with WKOW), and offer a community art project through Wheelhouse Studios.
The GSCC directer and event host Warren Scherer shared, “The Picnic was a great event. We had over 50 people enjoy festivities that offered community-building opportunities for students taking summer classes. The event was followed by pictures on the Terrace Pride chairs; a Happy Pride!”
