Summer bucket list

August marks the final month of summer term in Madison. While that may conjure feelings of both excitement and nervousness, don’t forget that summer isn’t over yet. There’s still plenty of time to enjoy the weather, explore the city, and make new experiences. Check out this bucket list of things to do in the final month of #UWSummer.

SEE THE TERRACE AFTER DARK

The Terrace is a great spot to relax during the day, but once the sun falls, it really begins to heat up. With free concerts, movie screenings, and open mic nights, along with a beautiful view of the lake at night, you can’t miss the Terrace After Dark.

GET ON (OR IN) THE WATER

Don’t just stay on the shore this summer. Outdoor UW offers kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals so you can enjoy the weather and explore Lake Mendota. When you’re done, why not take a swim at the Terrace? Be sure to pay attention to safe swimming tips from UHS. (Psst: Make sure you check the UHS website to be sure the water is safe for swimming.)

SMELL THE ROSES AT THE GARDEN

You’ve probably walked past this campus gem, but have you explored it? Stop by and see a wide variety of beautiful plants and flowers in the peaceful Allen Centennial Garden.
