Get ready, Badgers! The flamingos are about to land on Bascom Hill. Fill the Hill, one of UW–Madison’s quirkiest and most meaningful traditions, returns October 9–10. Every donation adds a pink flamingo to the Bascom flock.
This year, we’re introducing our Student Affairs flamingos — here to share a few different ways you can support students with your gift. Meet Cameron, Sam, Blake, and Lennie below, then mark your calendar to make a gift on October 9–10. Together, we’ll Fill the Hill and make a difference for every Badger.

Caring Cameron
Cameron is the heart of the flock. She notices when someone’s having a tough day and swoops in with encouragement, kindness, and a listening ear. She wants to make sure everyone in her flock has what they need to keep going when life feels overwhelming.
Join Cameron in helping every Badger flourish. Consider a gift to the Dean of Students Fund during Fill the Hill. Your gift provides crisis grants, emergency food support, and access to resources that help students meet their basic needs.

Strong Sam
Whether he’s leading a sunrise stretch at the Bakke Center, encouraging a friend to check in with a counselor, or playing with an intramural team, Sam is always on the go. To Sam, well-being is about caring for both body and mind and making sure everyone in his flock feels supported to succeed. He champions self-care, breaking down stigma, and building resilience.
Join Sam in helping ensure every Badger has what they need to be successful, not only in the classroom but also in their mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Consider a gift to the Health and Wellbeing Annual Fund during Fill the Hill.
Belonging Blake
Blake is the connector of the flock. He’s naturally curious and unites the flock across various backgrounds and perspectives. Blake helps others feel welcome and at home while encouraging them to explore new ideas and experiences. He thrives in spaces where students learn from one another and build meaningful relationships.
If you’re like Blake and believe every Badger deserves a sense of connection and purpose, consider a gift to the Student Success and Belonging Annual Fund during Fill the Hill. You’ll support programs that create opportunities for students to engage across differences, discover community, and feel at home on campus.

Leading Lennie
Lennie is the flamingo with a full calendar and a passion for creating shared experiences. You’ll find her planning movie nights, curating art shows, or gathering friends for live music on the Terrace. While Lennie found campus overwhelming at first, she found her flock while getting involved with student organizations and at the Union—a place where she discovered her passions, made lifelong friends, and created memories she’ll treasure forever.
Help Lennie ensure students and community members can grow, connect, and enjoy unforgettable experiences on campus. Consider a gift to the Wisconsin Union Annual Fund during Fill the Hill.
Don’t leave Cameron, Sam, Blake, and Lennie standing alone! No matter who you choose to flock with, each is connected to help all Badgers flourish. On October 9–10, every donation, big or small, adds another flamingo to Bascom Hill, filling our campus with a colorful reminder of the power of community.
Add your flamingo to our Student Affairs flock this Fill the Hill. Save the date, bookmark the Fill the Hill page, and get ready to join the fun. Let’s Fill the Hill, one flamingo (and one gift) at a time.
On, Wisconsin!
